Characters

Here is the full list of the main characters in our film.
  • Jay Deemain character – he is the new member of the student council filling in the role of ‘treasurer’. His personality shows that he is brave and is willing to do things to help others and gets into a lot of fights. He is always in conflict with Nina, they often disagree with each other in council meetings, as he is more considerate of the students’ feelings whereas Nina wants what would be more beneficial for everybody at school. He is secretly in love with Nina.
  • Nina Greenmain character – she is the Vice President of the student council and has more influence and power than the (liberated) President in all the decisions that they make. She believes that JD is a troublemaker because he always ends up in fights at or outside of school. When she becomes closer to JD, as they get used to the personality swaps, she falls in love with him.
  • Mick Schultzminor character – the President of the student council. He brings the whole group together with his charm and understanding of their differences, although he is often childish he can be very mature. He is actually a genius and completely trusts his friends.
  • Sasha Fierceminor character – Nina’s best friend in the group. Secretly in love with JD but (only) tries to suppress her feelings when she discovers that he is in love with Nina.
  • Eva Grantminor character – a straightforward character that makes decisions based on logic and reason. She is often there to backup Nina but will sometimes side with someone else if the idea or decision is in line with her logical conclusion of any situation. Later in the film trailer she is the character completely taken over by an outsider in a personality swap occurrence, after which the outsider attempts suicide in her body, however, JD saves her in time.
We came to the decision to follow the classic codes and conventions with our characters and hope to achieve something accurate to depict each of the characters within these boundaries, which the audience will be able to familiarise with and hope to entertain. I was initially inspired by the five characters in the film 'The Breakfast Club' and tried to base it from them. However, to adjust to the modern audience, there are only some similarities such there being five characters. The female characters are more dominant with Nina being the natural leader and by having less male in the group. The character descriptions explore female friendship and love, so it appeals to our primary target audience of teenage girls but hopeful that boys and young adults will also relate to these characters.
