Rating and Target Audience

From our initial ideas there has been a slight change to our target audience because originally the age range we chose for our target audience might be young from 13-21 years old  due to the content that's going to be in the film trailer which will affect our age rating. The target audience's age range has been changed to 16-25 year olds because of the mature content that will be featured in the film trailer. The content will feature similar teen-related subjects that are in the UK television series 'Skins' including drinking, drugs and relationships. Our cast consists of British teens themselves and will depict their characters which will appeal to our target audience in the UK. The drama/mystery will also draw interest to the story and plot of the film because it still follows the conventions of mainstream teen films but is also unique.

Age Rating

• We decided on the '15' rating.
• Similar films in the same genre are mostly of this age rating, however, we did consider that the film might be an '18' because of the mature content involved.
• Looking at '18' films the content is far more extreme with violence, blood and sex that are explicit, so we believe a '15' rating is much more appropriate for our film trailer because there is strong language, drug taking and some violence.
• We had to check and compare the guidelines information up on the BBFC website.
